Infrastructure in the service of the only road transport. It is usually located at the border and it has loan-out areas reserved to transport companies and set up for parking, unloading and delivery, consolidation and deconsolidation of shipments.
More specifically, the most representative activity is the transportation of groupage with the connected operations of reorganisation and sorting of the products, next to their deposit and storage.
In this infrastructure there are no forms of intermodality; moreover, general services are provided to the truck drivers and the trucks themselves, such as restaurants, banks and garages.
